Octy Images is an independent publication launched in August 2023 by Richard Pryn.

It started as a bit of fun.

I always wanted to have my own image library and one day when I was creating some images for my main website I realised I was using the same free stock images as loads of other people.

So I started using AI (Midjourney) to generate some unique pictures. And I really enjoyed the process.

There was a point when I thought, "Hey, why don't I use these images to create my own image library?"

Which is where this website started.

The problem started when I created images for SEO and what I thought people would want. Then, I quickly got bored.

So the website sat dormant for many months.

Until...

I was generating some images for another side project when I thought, "Hey just for the giggles why don't I ask Midjoureny to create something from this prompt - a woman the size of a flea walking on top of someone's head" - and it came up with this image...

And I just loved it.

The things I enjoy about using AI image generation are waiting to see what it will generate, and then feeling inspired by the worlds it manages to create.

It feels very much like a game.

So here I am just making images for the fun of it and sharing them with the hope that they inspire someone else.
